What is an Entry Approval Letter?
Vietnam entry approval letter, also known as Vietnam entry permit or immigration visa approval letter, is an official document issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security. It grants permission for the individual named in the letter to obtain a business visa and enter Vietnam for work purposes. This document is also commonly referred to as the visa approval letter.
The Vietnam entry approval letter includes the following information: personal details of the foreign national entering Vietnam, name and address of the inviting or sponsoring organization or company, duration of stay permitted in Vietnam, and the designated place to receive the Vietnam visa, which may be the Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate abroad or an international border gate (airport, land border, or seaport), depending on the specific case.

During the COVID-19 period, all foreigners wishing to enter Vietnam were required to obtain an entry approval letter. However, from March 15, 2022, Vietnam’s entry regulations have been significantly relaxed, and the following categories of foreigners are no longer required to obtain an entry approval letter to enter Vietnam:

Procedures for Issuing Tourist Visa for Foreigners
to Enter Vietnam
The duration is 1 month or a maximum of 3 months. The Vietnam tourist visa is marked with the code DL to distinguish it from other types of visas. To apply for a tourist visa for foreigners in Vietnam, you need to follow these steps:

– You need to provide the following information: Date of arrival, entry point, visa type, and passport scan.
– Visa issuance points: Vietnam international airports, Vietnamese embassies, consulates, or border gates.
